Charles Liégeois Cafés
Guided by a love of coffee, Charles Liégeois began roasting in 1955 and, year after year, trip after trip, honed his knowledge and mastery of roasting, which he passed on to his sons and grandson. Now it is they, Benoît, Michel and Quentin, who select the beans, create the blends and adjust the roasting every day, surrounded by women and men who, like them, are passionate.

Unique knowledge and expertise that we are pleased to share with you here. Because that's just how we are at Charles Liégeois, proud of a coffee that accompanies everyday life as much as precious moments. Charles Liégeois Roastery is today an important player in coffee roasting in Belgium. A recognition that has been forged over generations, around strong values that we pass on as best we can with our coffee. A coffee that’s rich in flavour, good for the planet and good for those who make a living from it.

Rosé wines from Europe, a taste of the good life!
The Interprofessional Council of Wines of Provence (CIVP) and the Consortium Valtènesi joined forces through a three-year European campaign, from 2022-2024, in the target markets of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The campaign, co-financed by the EU, focuses on awareness-raising around the European quality label PDO, using the example of premium rosé wines from Provence and Italian Valtènesi.

Provence and Valtènesi are benchmark European wine regions with centuries-old winemaking traditions. Their rosé wine expertise, dedicated winemakers committed to sustainable development, quality, authenticity, terroir, and their postcard-worthy landscapes are all commonalities that unite the two regions in this campaign. Furthermore, AOP rosé wines are as diverse as the occasions on which they are enjoyed.
Provence and Valtènesi offer a wide spectrum of flavours and styles to suit even the most eclectic tastes, from light and delicate to fruity and intense. Their exceptional quality and characteristics make them a must-try for any gourmand seeking unforgettable culinary experiences. Because rosé wines are not simply destined to make an aperitif memorable; they also have a special place at the dining table. Whether you're a gastronome or a fan of world cuisine, there's bound to be an AOP rosé wine to suit every occasion. Rosé wines are known for being synonymous with joie de vivre, emotions, conviviality and carefree enjoyment. It is precisely this complexity that is expressed in their slogan: « Much more than a colour »"Treat yourself: come and sample these rosé wines for free at Tent 8 at Épicuriales!"
Point Chaud, artisan from morning to night!
The subtle, mouth-watering aromas of bread slowly baking, the gentle warmth of an oven, and the comforting smell of chocolate wafting through the air… Dawn is just breaking, much like the shutters of the brand's 55 bakeries. Hot spot. Reconciling a local point of sale, artisanal manufacturing, and large-scale production was an incredible challenge 30 years ago. Didier Depreay has since shown that it was not only possible, but also delicious!

The story began in 1993 in Belgium, and more specifically in the province of Liège, when Point Chaud opened its first shop in Fléron. The initial idea was quite innovative as it consisted of offering fresh bread throughout the day. Previously, bakers worked in their workshops, mostly at night, and produced their entire daily output in a relatively short period of time. Their intention was to bake products all day long to offer the experience of a product straight from the oven, fresh and crispy no matter the time. Today, their baguettes and pastries are baked directly in the shops.
Success came very quickly, and the concept proved popular, attracting imitators. In seven years, 17 shops were opened, marking a first turning point in their history. And there would be others: the transformation of their image, the construction of a modern and efficient production site in Alleur, and the creation of the "Atelier Gaufres". They grew, admittedly rapidly, but always with the same desire to offer quality products with a unique taste and crispness. The figures alone can be dizzying: 140,000 baguettes per month, 20,000 éclairs, and 600 employees working to satisfy their increasingly demanding clientele.
The little bakery has become a real institution in the province of Liège. Every neighbourhood has «its» Point Chaud, a meeting point in the morning for a «hot» breakfast or at midday to pick up a sandwich, or in the afternoon to enjoy a slice of tart and a coffee. Little by little, they are expanding further from their Liège base: they are present in Namur, Charleroi and Brussels and are planning new openings in the near future. But, no matter how many Point Chauds there are, the recipes will remain authentic and the methods traditional. They have automated some tasks but still work using traditional production methods, thanks to the expertise of their bakers, pastry chefs and brioche makers!
Hot spot will be present at the Épicuriales event, where their famous «signature baguette» will be available to sample during meals in the Chefs’ Tent: sourdough bread with all the crunch and softness of the authentic and wonderful French tradition.
