For almost thirty years, the Madame Oak, The Tilkin restaurant in Neupré was the absolute benchmark in the Liège region for fine dining. Boasting two Michelin stars, it was the unmissable destination for a clientele seeking a certain form of perfection in terms of hospitality, service, and gastronomic pleasures. After a few «setbacks» of varying degrees, Nathalie Weickmann has taken over this beautiful house which is now called The Boater in reference to its Tilff establishment which was ravaged by the floods.
The surroundings effortlessly blend the pleasures of the countryside with luxury and refinement, creating an atmosphere of calm and serenity. Before entering the superb dining room, for fine weather days, we highly recommend a charming terrace for a few moments of enjoyment. Nathalie manages the establishment with the welcoming air of a true hostess, supported by a team ready to guide you with smiles through the intricacies of a well-balanced menu. The kitchen is under the watchful eye of Grégory Leclère, assisted by a well-rehearsed team. They prioritise fresh produce, celebrating local terroir: classic and modern harmonise perfectly in a succession of remarkably innovative dishes.
Challans veal chiffonade, Scottish salmon, beef carpaccio, octopus tentacles, frog legs or Thai-style scampi are among the starters (from €16.90): judicious choices that are particularly well-balanced, elegantly mixing taste and colours. Among the main courses on offer, we noted the beef steak (choice of sauce), veal sweetbreads, ham hock in crust, lamb rack or the «beautiful» sole (from €23.90), not forgetting the delightful daily specials and their charming surprises. Desserts, as varied as they are tasty, will capture your gourmet attention (from €9). The wine list has been well thought out with a range of fine vintages and original choices, perfect for extending the pleasures of an exceptional venue, which also features seminar rooms upstairs.
