In 1970, Filomena and Michele Petta They left their homeland to find decent work and raise their family. Their hard work and determination paid off. Despite the challenges and their lack of experience in the hotel industry, the Petta family rose to the challenge with passion. The story of Domaine des Hautes Fagnes is that of a Belgian family's love at first sight when they discovered the abandoned establishment. Pauline Petta played a key role in this transformation, from kitchen work to management. The DHF is much more than a hotel: it is a warm, family-run SME that proudly employs 80 people and holds the title of Belgium's highest hotel.
